Shirley Ann Boberg passed away peacefully at age 77 on Wednesday, October 7, 2010 with her husband of 57 years, Dick, at her side. The cause was lung cancer. Shirley and Dick had resided in Rolling Hills Estates since 1967. Shirley Ann Jumper was born October 19, 1932 in Berkeley, California, the second daughter of Royal and Edith Jumper. Shirley was a 3rd generation Californian and lived her entire life in the state. On August 30, 1953, Shirley married Richard (Dick) Boberg whom she had met at UC Berkeley. A teacher all her life, Shirley taught 3rd grade in San Mateo until the family moved south to Redondo Beach in 1962 and later taught elementary kids in various schools in the South Bay including Taper Avenue Elementary in San Pedro. Shirley and Dick moved the family a few miles in 1967 to their current home in Rolling Hills Estates. Shirley was an active member of the parish of St. Peter's Episcopal Church for more than 40 years. Steve and I are so sorry that we were unable to attend the services this past Saturday. We would have loved to see you all.....it's been such a very long time since the days "in the neigbhorhood". Our thoughts are with you all. We are still trying to find the info for the assistance league to make a donation. I was hoping there would be something on this site. If anyone has the info, please e-mail to us at [email protected] Thanks! Love and warm thoughts.....Myra & Steve
