Stephen Ventura, age 40, passed away on June 23, 2012 in Torrance, California. Stephen was born to Steven and Diane Ventura on September 2, 1971 in Ozark, Alabama, and was a lifelong resident of the South Bay living in Torrance/Lomita area for the past 37 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane, who he adored; and his beloved grandparents, Rick and Connie Viveros, and Julian Olivas. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Frankie; his precious children, Tristan Enrique Ventura and Stevie Diane Ventura; his father, Steven Ventura and wife, Cea Ventura; his best friend and sister, Jennifer Annett; his two adored nieces, Samantha Amor Annett and Natalie Faith Annett; and will be greatly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Steve was an avid surfer; enjoyed the outdoors; loved going to Dodger games, and cheering for his Raiders and Lakers; laughed and enjoyed his music with cousins and friends; and above all was a family man who adored his children. All the children gravitated to Steve, who was a child at heart, and brought smiles and laughter into their lives. Steve was a giant of a man, tall and handsome, but gentle and loving as a puppy. He was also a soldier in God's army- spreading love and peace, and protecting his loved ones. Steve was a free spirit who will be missed dearly, but remembered by all for his kind eyes, warm smile, and unconditional love. Thank you dear God for bringing your son into our lives. Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 30 with a viewing at 9:00 am and mass at 9:30 am at St. Margaret Mary Church in Lomita with burial to follow at Green Hills Memorial Park.
