Suzanne Weston Obituary

Suzanne Weston was born in Toledo, OH in 1935. She was raised by her grandma and grandpa MacDonald and her MacDonald aunts and uncles, whom she loved her entire life. She became a member of the Ward family in her late teens and was forever grateful for the gracious and genteel influence they had on her. Joining the United States Navy after graduating from Waite High School in Toledo, she served in the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. until she married. Suzanne belonged to St. Anthony Church in El Segundo and was an energetic and involved parent at St. Anthony School for many years while her four children were in attendance. A world traveler, she enjoyed adventures both solo and with friends. Her passion for Renaissance art gave her a special appreciation for Italy, where she attended an Italian language immersion program in Florence in her 60s. Suzanne shared her love of God and The United States of America with her family and friends. She was proud that her sons served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force. Suzanne is survived by her four children: Suzanne Fuentes, Chris Fuentes, Ted Fuentes and Michelle Michelena. She was devoted to her grandchildren: Christian, Brandon, Bella, Zoe, Zachariah, Matthew, Noah and Ethan, who were a constant source of joy for her. Suzanne passed into her new life with our Lord on Friday, September 24. Her life will be celebrated at a memorial Mass at St. Anthony Church at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 2 with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Bob Hope USO at LAX. http://bobhopeuso.org/. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.

I am very sorry about the passing of your mother.
We have been out of town and my sister sent me the information.
I have a lot of wonderfull memories of your mother.
When I was in the ninth grade I went to Toledo with your grandmother to take your mother to the train station. She was leaving for the service.
I remember sleeping on the sofa at your great grandparents.
There are not many of the old Ward family left.

My deepest sympathies go out to the family of Suzanne at this difficult time. Suzanne was a good friend who I first met at Raytheon. We have remained in contact since she retired. When I think of Suzanne I think of her travels as well as her children which she spoke of often. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. God bless.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have known Suzie for most of our lives. We went to Franklin school together, Waite High Schol, where we were both members of the band and last shared a room at the Weston Hotel in Toledo at our fifty year h.s. reunion in 2003. Suzie was always so involved in life around her and no matter what, kept a positive attitude looking forward to the next phase of her life.I think of her often and will keep her in my fondest memories.

As a younger cousin :) I always remember Suzie as the energizer bunny. Even though I was younger, I couldn't keep up with her. She loved family and we loved her. I have nothing but fond thoughts of her and will miss her. Pete & Deb MacDonald
