Thomas Neil (Tom) McKinnon

Tom was born December 8, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN and passed away peacefully at his home in Mesa, AZ on May 14, 2013 with his loving wife Elinor by his side. Tom served proudly and with honor in the Coast Guard during WWII. He and his first wife, Peggy, raised their three children in Carson CA. Tom worked for Douglas Aircraft for over 30 years. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Elks. After Peggy's death, he met and married his devoted wife Elinor Somerset and they settled in Mesa, Arizona spending many happy years traveling, cruising, golfing, and dancing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; son, Tim; daughter, Teri Ver Beek; stepdaughter, Cindy Murphy; and sister, Mary Millett. He is survived by his wife, Elinor; sister, Nancy Wilton of Palm Desert; daughter, Nancy (Steve) Gregg of Manhattan Beach; stepson, Tom (Sue) Somerset of Irvine; stepson-in-law, David Murphy of Lancaster; 6 granddaughters and 7 great grandchildren. Tom was a fun loving guy and wrote a story about his life while in his late 80s. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
