Walton Farris Obituary
Walton Farris passed away at home on October 29, 2012 at the age of 81. He was surrounded by his loved ones and died peacefully in his sleep. Wally and his first wife moved to Palos Verdes in 1963. His two sons grew up in PV and attended the local schools. His first wife (Ann Elizabeth Farris) passed away in 1984. Wally married Ann Baker Farris in 2004 and moved to Fountain Valley. He leaves behind his two sons, David (Wendy), Robert Farris (Mary); four granddaughters, Rachel, Tori, Brenna, and Kirra; and two step daughters, Gloria and Stacey O'Brien. Wally was born in Alberta, Canada and came from a family of 8 children. He was a pharmacy graduate from the University of British Columbia and USC. He worked at Harbor UCLA Medical Center as a Pharmacist for over 40 years. Our Dad was the sweetest man, a loving father, and completely devoted to his family and especially his four grandchildren. We will always remember his happy eyes, his ready smile, and his adorable gentle nature. We have so many happy memories of him. He was truly a people person and a man of many talents and interests including camping, snorkeling, dancing, traveling and even writing some beautiful poetry to the delight of his friends. To know him for five minutes was to have a new best friend. He will be truly missed. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 11th at 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church Huntington Beach (www.fcchb.com) where he and his wife were active members. Everyone is invited. He and his wife were also members of the Newport Beach Elks. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) www.maf.org which flies medical supplies and doctors in small Cessna planes to the darkest corners of the world into jungle areas as they present the love of Christ to others, or donate to The City of Hope or blood to the Red Cross.
