William Michael McMahon Obituary

A 60-year resident of Manhattan Beach, passed away at age 86 on Monday, October 11, 2010 in Torrance. He was born in New York on September 28, 1924. Bill served in the Army Air Corp. during WWII and was a POW. He was a long-time parishioner and member of American Martyrs Catholic Church. Bill worked at Hughes Aircraft for 35 years. He loved the outdoors and his hobbies were fishing, golf, camping and boating and he most especially loved being with his family. He loved watching all sporting events, especially Notre Dame football. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Grace McMahon of Manhattan Beach; son, William McMahon, Jr. of Hermosa Beach; daughters, Kathleen Crusan of Long Beach and Susan Castillo of Torrance; his eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis McMahon; his father, Francis McMahon; and his mother, Mary McMahon. A viewing and Rosary will be held at White & Day Mortuary in Manhattan Beach on Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at American Martyrs Catholic Church on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with a burial immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. A reception will be in the Blessed Kateri Room at American Martyrs on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits. Uncle Bill, The world needs bunches of guys like this ! What a wonderful guy, we will all be greatful to have known/worked with him. I even delivered papers to him, as well as worked w/ him. Christ be with you !
