Yvonne Charles, 84, of Lomita, CA passed away Wednesday, July 10th. Yvonne was born April 24, 1929 to parents, Frank and Claire Robinson. She leaves behind her two sons, Rick and Devitte Charles along with her grandsons, Hank, Zack, Luke and Kurt. Yvonne was a lifetime angel of the city of Los Angeles, graduating from Washington High school in 1947. Yvonne first started working for Western Auto, but then transitioned to education and spent over 30 years working for the Los Angeles School system. Yvonne dedicated her life to raising her two sons along with the many children that passed through her hands during her professional career. Upon retiring Yvonne, focused on a few of her many passions, volunteering at her church, Torrance 1st Baptist Church and at the San Pedro Mammal Marine Center. Yvonne's greatest joys came from traveling the world, visiting the Panama Canal, cruises to Alaska, an expedition to Israel with her church and her favorite, a trip to Egypt with her son. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 27th at Torrance 1st Baptist Church, starting at 11 A.M. A reception and lunch will be held at the church following the service.
