Denis Svorinich
Denis Svorinich went to meet God on June 2, 2014. Denis Svorinich was born on March 24, 1962 in Harbor City, CA to Stanko and Josephine (Jelenic) Svorinich. Denis was the oldest of three sons. Denis Svorinich went to White Point Elementary School, then on to Dana Jr. High School, then to San Pedro High School. He graduated in 1980. He went to Los Angeles Harbor College. He delivered the News Pilot. He worked at Stan's Meat Market when he was fifteen through high school. There after he worked at Pratt Paint and Hardware for late Uncle Walter Jelenic. Shortly after high school Denis opened Harbor Ice Company. In 1985 Denis became a "Loyal" member of the International Longshoreman Warehouseman Union, Local 13, where he was a crane operator. He not only worked, but he helped a lot of people in his Local. Since December of 2003 he never recovered from his injury. In his younger years Denis enjoyed surfing and outdoor activities. He loved to go to explore new places. He loved and helped anybody and everybody, helping was important to him. He is also survived by his brother, Bobby Svorinich (Amelia) and youngest brother, Joseph Svorinich; his niece, which nothing brought more joy to him, Melyssa Svorinich; niece, Vanessa; late uncle, Walter Jelenic, Uncle Ante Jelenic of New Jersey, Uncle Krsto and Teta Rosa, Uncle Albert and Teta Miranda, Teta Marija (Don) Glenn, Teta Mery Bijelic, Teta Vijera (Marko) Rudela; and many cousins in San Pedro, New Jersey, and Croatia. Denis we will miss you dearly. Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Star of the Sea Church with interment following at Green Hills Memorial Park.
