Parents- Anna (Machado) Svicarevich, Antone Svicarevich (deceased). Nick's father was born in Vis, Yugoslavia and immigrated to South America for political reasons, later ending up in San Pedro, where he lived his entire life. Nick attended both 15th St. and Leland St. Elementary Schools, graduating from Dana middle school and San Pedro High School. After graduating he worked for a time at Rados Engineering and at his father's boat yard, "Tony's Boat Works." He was hired at Todd Shipyard as a joiner/shipwright in 1978 and stayed there until it closed. He then had a stint at Southwest Marine and finally Long Beach Naval Shipyard until its closing. Preceded in death by brother Anthony and survived by mother Anna; wife of 35 years Janice; Children Michael Wainwright, Nicole (Dave) Valdez, Jack Svicarevich, and Carrie Svicarevich. Grandchildren Benjamin Ryan Valdez. Nick is greatly missed by his family along with his rescued dog, Savannah, and his beloved orphan kitten, Vladimir. Nick had a soft spot for animals.
