Luciano Anania, 95, of San Pedro, California, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 2, 1917 in Trappeto, Sicily, and was a commercial fisherman for over 60 years. He enjoyed playing the accordion, gardening and playing with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a devoted husband and father. He is preceded in death by his parents, Matteo, Grazia and Rosalia (stepmother) Anania and siblings. He is survived by his wife, Anna of 72 years; daughters, Grazia (Joe) Russo, Elenora (Salvatore) Salvato; son, Joseph Anania; grandchildren, Rosalie (Andy) Fiamengo, Josephine (Santo) Tumasella, Filippo (Stephanie) Salvato, Luciano (Robin) Salvato, Sal (Luci Ann) Salvato, Ambrogio (Katina) Salvato, Marco Salvato (Leslie Vuoso); great-grandchildren, Troy, Tyler, Tre Fiamengo; Christian, Jack Tumasella; Colton, Dekglynn Salvato; Angelina, Salvatore Rocco Salvato; Joslyn, Ambrogio, Salvatore Salvato, and many nieces and nephews. Vigil service will be held at McNerney's Mortuary, Thursday, October 25, 3pm - 7pm, Rosary at 7pm. A funeral mass will be offered on Friday, October 26, 10:30 am at Mary Star of the Sea Church followed by interment at Green Hills Memorial Park.
