Sidney was born in New York City, moved to Los Angeles at age 10 and attended UCLA where he met Beatrice. They were married in 1944. After he served in WWII he earned his PhD in biochemistry at UC Berkeley. He worked for Hughes Aircraft until he retired at age 59. Sidney was known everywhere for his peanut brittle and rum cakes. He loved sports, especially tennis which he actively played until he was 86 years old. He also greatly enjoyed playing bridge and traveling the world with his wife, Beatrice. He enjoyed visiting his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sidney is survived by his wife of 68 years, Beatrice; his son, Stephen, and his wife, Rosemary of Anchorage, AK; and his daughter, Terri and her husband, Tom of Vista, CA; 8 grandchildren, Eric, Jason, Ryan, Lisa, Kevin, Melissa, Rachael and David; 3 great grandchildren, Sonya, Marina and Julia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sidney was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and cherished uncle to many and a friend to all. A true gentleman whose happy, positive outlook helped him thoroughly enjoy life and was an inspiration to those who knew him. A celebration of life will be held on November 18th, 1:00PM at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 Centinela Ave. Los Angeles, CA. Donations may be made in Sidney's honor to a Jewish
