Dorothy Isabella Campbell Krachan Murray
The Guest Book is expired.
Dorothy passed away at her home in Torrance on November 22, 2012, Thanksgiving Day, at the age of 67, after battling melanoma. Dorothy was born May 8, 1945 in Scotland to Christine Campbell and John Krachan, and was raised with her brother John in the town of Dundee. Dorothy moved to America at the age of 20, and met her husband Ken in Santa Monica at the King's Head Pub after he had also moved from Scotland. They were wed on October 16, 1967. She became a mother to Kenny in 1971 and Ian in 1975. The family moved from Redondo Beach to their home in West Torrance in 1973. Being Scottish, the Murray's were an avid soccer family, and many lifelong friendships were forged through the sport. Dorothy was a wonderful friend, neighbor, and in-law. She always had time to sit and chat, and was known for her beautiful Scottish lilt and funny sayings. Dorothy also found much joy in her beloved pets. But it was her 5 grandchildren that gave her the greatest joy. Dorothy was loved by many, and leaves many behind, including her sons, Kenny (Jen) and Ian (Teri); grandchildren, Zackary, Ethan, Joshua, Ian and Hailey; brother, John (Anne) and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as dear friends. A service will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 3 p.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 301 Avenue D, Redondo Beach, 90277. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
