Nina Reskusich Obituary
Nina Tomich Reskusich Sep. 17, 1920-Dec. 2, 2012
Peacefully passed away on December 2, 2012. Nina was born in Komiza, Croatia, to Vinka and Toma Tomicich and came to San Pedro when she was 16 years old. Nina was a wonderful student, homemaker and seamstress. Nina loved people, but more importantly, people meant everything to her, especially family. She saw the best in every person she met. In July 1950 Nina Tomich and Mitchell Reskusich attended a dance and as their eyes met across the dance floor each knew that they were meant for each other. Three months after meeting they married at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Los Angeles with cousin Lucille Tomich Monahan as Maid of Honor and cousin Pete Bezelj as Best Man. They lived a happy life for 51 years until Mitch's death in 2001. Nina leaves behind cousins: Lucille Monahan (Pat), Ann Moore (Pete), Anthony Tomicich (Susan), Seka Bubica (Mario); brother-in-law: Tonko Reskusich (Mira); sister-in-law: Ina Reskusic; nieces and nephews: Katica Kuljis (Vinko), Pjero Reskusic (Vanja), John Reskusich (Nancy), Kathy Custer (Jim), Yana Packard; and many more in Croatia. Nina was loved very much by her family and friends. We will always remember her love and caring. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church followed by a burial at Green Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family would like to suggest donations be made in memory of Nina Reskusich to the , Western States Affiliates, P. O. Box 742030, Los Angeles, Ca 90074.
