Gabriel died unexpectedly on January 14, 2013 at his residence in Wilmington, CA at the age of 64. He is survived by his wife Theresa; and only daughter, Elizabeth and Mark Craney; grandchildren, Jacob Luevano; Jayden Craney of Fountain Valley; Brothers, Roberto Macias of Mexico, Albino Macias and Jesus Macias of Oklahoma; Sisters, Luz Elena Austin of Pomona, Rosario Alicia Macias. Gabriel was preceded in passing by his parents, Cosme Macias Gutierrez and Maria de la Luz Macias Renteria; siblings: Amparito Macias, Rosa Elva Macias and Ruben Macias. Gabriel was from Chihuahua, Mexico and came to the United States in the 1970s. He worked for the Daily Breeze newspaper in Torrance, CA for about 23 years. Gabriel was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a kind man and had a generous heart, he was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, he was a hard worker all of his days. All those who knew him would know he had a great sense of humor, enjoyed making people laugh, shopping at the swap meet and once retired he continued to work on various projects around the house and for anyone who asked.
