Eugene B. Schrier was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 11, 1931 to parents, Irving and Bertha Schrier. His passing on February 16, 2013 is mourned by his wife, Sheri; his brother, Mel, daugher, Wendy Lynne and son, Daniel (Tracy). Gene has four grandchildren: Adam and Noah Schnitzer, Tawny and Reed, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A long time resident of Rolling Hills Estates, Gene began his busy career after graduating from UCLA and volunteering for the Korean War. His employer was TRW as a photographer and then began an entrepreneurship acquiring and maintaining commercial properties, apartment buildings, storage units, restaurants,and devising and electric car engine, a pocket sandwich and co-founding Happy Hats for Kids in Hospitals. You may remember the low calorie restaurant chain, The Slender Spoon and the Camelot Inn steakhouse. He loved films, traveling, photography and creating new concepts and ideas.
