Joe P. Cobo
November 1, 1927 - May 2, 2013
Born in San Fernando, California, graduated from San Fernando High School and was a member of the U.S. Army immediately following World War II. He married his wife, Irene in 1949 and celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this past year. He resided in the South Bay since 1954. He had a successful liquor business in Carson and retired in 1984 to travel and enjoy his life with his wife, Irene. He was a long-time member of the Elks Club and loved USC football. Joe is survived by his wife, Irene of 63 years; he was predeceased by his son, Rick; survived by his son, Michael and fiancée, Karen Jacobelly; his grandchildren, Matthew Cobo and Kimberly Klinsport, their spouses Dr. Nicole Cobo and Brian Klinsport, and great-granddaughter, Helena Irene Cobo. He is also survived by his sister, Evelina, loving nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Chapel. Rosary is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 8 at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Main Chapel.
