Janet Louise Neuman
Our beloved Janet Louise Neuman went home to be with the LORD on March 31, 2013 after a long, valiant battle with respiratory illness. Janet was born on August 9, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Clifford and Frances Ackerknecht. She moved to southern California with her family when she was a teenager. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul J. Neuman; her brother, Richard Ackerknecht; her three children: Ronald, Diane (Greg) and Paul (Brandy); her grandchildren: Justin, Chadrick, Lauren, Chase, Reed, Blake, Taylor & Destiny, as well as many other dear relatives and friends. With great joy, Janet served as a volunteer at Torrance Memorial Medical Center for 22 years, dedicating herself to helping others. Janet loved to use her artistic gifts to bless and benefit others
she was fluent in sign language, enjoyed playing the piano, painting, ceramics, sewing, crocheting intricate blankets, designing and hand-crafting heirloom Christmas stockings for her family, cooking and baking. She leaves many original creations and recipes to enjoy. A very devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is particularly known by all who knew her for her great kindness, gentleness and thoughtfulness which touched everyone in a special, lasting way. The fruit of the Spirit (Galations 5:22,23) was very evident in her life. She loved the LORD, her family and others. Forever cherished in our hearts, we give thanks for the irreplaceable gift of Janet and the time we had with her. She will be greatly missed. Janet was laid to rest at Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes.
