Leona Mae
Solley (Wright)

Leona Mae Solley (Wright) was born on September 3, 1928 in Dallas, Texas. She was the 2nd child of Johnnie Leona Wright and W. E. Wright. She was preceded in death by her dear mother, father and two sisters, Betty Jean Hyde and Ruth Kolak. She grew up in and around the Dallas area. She married Roger in 1950. The Solley family moved to Los Angeles in 1958. Over the years they lived in Hawthorne, Torrance and finally called "The Riviera, their home". Leona went into Tupperware in the early 1960s and quickly became a manager. She was thrilled to get her own company car, Turquoise and white. She was an accomplished artist, well-known for her landscapes and seascapes. Leona went into real estate at Tarbell Realtors in 1976. She was a consistent top producer and quickly moved up to office manager at the Riviera Office. She obtained her broker's license and opened Lee Solley Realtors. She obtained her lifetime broker's license a few years ago. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roger E. Solley; three sons, John Dee Solley, Roger Keith Solley, Robert Lee Solley; and a daughter, Catherine Brown (Solley). Also by two granddaughters, Kelly Dee Oku (Solley), Ashlee Nicole Johnston (Brown) (Michael) and three great granddaughters, Jasmine Solley, Sailor Solley and Makenna Johnston. A wonderful daughter-in-law, Bridgett Solley, who was like another daughter to her and many dear nieces and nephews. Leona was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to many. Come celebrate her life at a memorial service on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Hill Mortuary/Chapel. The family would love everyone dress in Puerto Vallarta or Hawaiian style as Leona and her family spent many years vacationing in both areas. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
