Former Rancho Palos Verdes resident, Muriel Titzler, 92, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013.
Muriel was born and raised in Pasadena, Ca. She attended Scripps College in 1940. In 1944, she married Henry (Hank) Nicholas Titzler. They built their Portuguese Bend home in Palos Verdes in 1954 where they raised their four children: Scott, Barbara, Henry and David. In addition to being a dedicated mother, Muriel was very active with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art where she spent many years working as a docent. She was also active with many area volunteer organizations including Little Company of Mary, Walk on the Wild Side and Angel's Gate. Muriel was an enthusiastic gardener and avid reader.
Muriel is survived by her sisters Ann Ferrier and Mary Burgess; her children Barbara Ranstrom of Eureka, California, Henry Titzler of Hermosa Beach, California and David Titzler of Palo Alto, California; her grandchildren Hetta Welch, Shane Ranstrom, Arley and Kohl Titzler, and Alana, Janet and Nicholas Titzler.
She is preceded in death by her husband Hank Titzler; son Scott Titzler, and brother James Scott.
There will be a private memorial in Muriel's honor. No flowers please.
