Christopher A. Coppock

CONOVER — Christopher A. Coppock, 17, of Conover, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, as a result of an auto accident. He is survived by his mother Holly M. Scherer, of Conover; his father and stepmother Scott W. (Tiffany) Coppock, of Piqua; maternal grandparents Richard and Jeri Scherer Jr. of Conover; siblings, Samantha Scherer of Akron, Karsten Jones, Mike Scherer, Austin Scherer, Lillian Scherer, all of Conover; and an aunt, Virginia Gardner, of Piqua.

Christopher was born in Piqua May 24, 1997, and was to enter his Senior year at Miami East High School where he was very active with the Vikings Marching Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band and Concert Band. As a talented musician, he enjoyed playing the tuba, trumpet, and bass guitar. He won awards for his talent at many solo competitions and earned the distinction as a Section Leader of the band this coming Fall. He was a member of the Lena Baptist Church and was working during the Summer at Western Ohio Fence Company. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.

A service to honor his life will be at noon Saturday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Edward Sollenberger officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vikings Marching Band of Miami East High School, 3825 N.
