PIQUA — Daytha Eileen Rank, 80, of Piqua, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:22 a.m. Friday July 25, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born Nov. 28, 1933, in Berea, Ky., to the late Bronce and Ninnie (Callehan) Powell. She married Robert W. Rank on Aug. 25, 1951, in Florida; he preceded her in death March 8, 2006.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Schmidt and Cathy Moore both of Piqua; a son, Ron Rank of Piqua; six grandchildren, Amy (Tony) Shaffer, Spring (Mitchell) Hirsch, Leslie (Matt) Teague, Samantha Rank, Amber Moore, Blaze Dahs; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Amon Powell of Christiansburg; a sister, Floy Mae Bolin of Huber Heights; and her faithful companion, Dozer. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Rank loved her family, particularly being with her grandchildren. She retired from the A O Smith Company of Tipp City. She was an active member of Trinity Church and avid evangelist proclaiming the word of God and enjoyed camping.
A service to honor her life will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Trinity Church with Pastor Michael G. Gross officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
