BRADFORD — Ellen C. Gleason, 46 of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at her home. Ellen was born in Phoenix, Ariz. on Dec. 25, 1967, to Gary Leon and Carole D. (Pendergast) Glaspie.
She was a graduate of Arcanum High School, Class of 1986. She received an associate degree in business management, a bachelor's degree in accounting and had worked the last four years as an administrative assistant at Emerson Climate, Sidney.
She was past president of Bradford PTO, was a cheerleading adviser, was director of the Pet Novelty Parade for Bradford Pumpkin Show, worked with the Girl Scouts in Bradford, was a huge advocate of Bradford Public Schools, and most of all was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and sister.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carole; sister, Shelley Glaspie; step-mother, Bonnie Glaspie; and step-siblings, Doug Houston, Debbie Gibson, Penny Statin. Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Joseph D. Gleason; father, Gary Glaspie of Bradford; daughters, Caroline Gleason at home, Selena and husband, Andrew Boyd of Anna; son, Christopher Gleason of Piqua; three grandchildren, Drew Boyd, Kendyll Boyd, Joshua Boyd; two sisters, Jane Moore of Greenville, Christine and husband, Dave Kessler of Arcanum; mother-in-law, Sandra and husband, Bill Drieling of Bradford; her dogs Scruffy and Teddy; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford with Pastor Louis Reindel officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bradford PTO Scholarship Fund.
