Gordon A. Yount

VERSAILLES - Gordon A. Yount, 82, of Versailles, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 6:15 p.m. at his residence. He was born May 27, 1930 in Bradford, to the late Gordon M. and Frances (Teeter) Yount.
Gordon retired from Master Industries in Ansonia and also worked at Argosy-Airstream in Versailles. He was a member of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member and Past Master of the Versailles Masonic Lodge 290. He served as district education officer and he was a past district deputy grand master of the Third Masonic District. Also was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. Gordon was very active in Trinity Lutheran Church in Versailles, Town and Country Players and Town Council.
He is together again with his wife Patricia J. "Pat" Yount, whom he married on June 25, 1955. He is also preceded in death by his parents.
Gordon is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Deb and Steve Martin of Milford, Tammie and Mike Lewis of Versailles, Kelly and Doug McEldowney of Medina, and Lisa and Don Berning of Versailles; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert and Wilma Yount of West Palm Beach, Fla., Janet Novak of Melbourne, Fla. and Caroli Miller of Tipp City; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles, with the Rev. Robert Akins officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Versailles Masonic Lodge will be conducting a Lodge of Sorrow on Tuesday evening at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral. A graveside military service will be conducted by the Versailles Veterans Honor Guard.
