PIQUA — James V. Puterbaugh, 56, of Piqua, died at 6:16 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born in Troy, on Sept. 28, 1957. "Jimmy" was the second of seven children born to the late Vernon and Ruth (Whiteford) Puterbaugh.
James is survived by his step mother, Barbara Meek Puterbaugh; two brothers and sister-in-law, Oscar Leroy Puterbaugh (Lori), St. Paris and Charles Puterbaugh, Piqua; and four sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Ritchie (Steven), Mount Olive, Ala., Patty Brown, Ala., Janet Puterbaugh (Richard Boehringer), Covington, Sherry Segar (Rich) of Port Jefferson; four nieces, five nephews and four great-nephews.
Jimmy graduated from Piqua Central High School, and previously worked for Forrest Enterprises. Before moving to Piqua Manor, Jimmy enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles and walking his dog. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, a special grandmother, Margaret Brown Whiteford, grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua with Bishop Randall Frisby officiating.
