SIDNEY — John C. Cook, 61, of Sidney, passed away peacefully in his home Friday, Jan, 24, 2014, at 1:30 a.m.
John was born June 6, 1952, in Piqua, to the late John H. Cook and Leona (Berres) Cook.
On Oct. 20, 1984, he married the love of his life, Lucy Meyer, of Sidney. They had been married 29 years and she survives.
John is survived by his children, Alan Cook of Cincinnati, Angie Cook of Oxford; twin daughters, Sarah Cook, of Irvine, Calif. and Rita Cook, of Chicago, Ill.; brothers and sisters, Ronald Cook and wife Barb of Houston, Bill Cook and wife Karen of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; his twin brother, Frank Cook and wife Judy, of Marthasville, Mo. and Dave Cook and wife Beth of Bowling Green; and many nieces and nephews.
John was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney. He was previously employed at Ross Casting and Innovation as a Pattern Maker and Lab Technician. He loved to cook, woodworking and playing cards in his spare time.
John was very proud of his children. He was very active with the Boy Scouts of America and supported his son Alan throughout his years in scouting. He was a devoted husband, loving father, brother and friend to all those who knew him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney with the Father Daniel Hess as celebrant. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice of Sidney. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
