Karen Ann Valentine


VANDALIA - Karen Ann Valentine, 69, of 876 Randler Ave., Vandalia, and formerly of Kirkwood, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at 3 p.m. at the Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus.
She was born on Aug. 6, 1943, in Piqua, the daughter of the late Richard and Virgina (Agenbroad) Valentine.
She is survived by two brothers, Virgil and Ruth Ann Valentine and Dr. Philip and Susan Valentine both of Sidney; her nieces and nephews: Jennifer VanTilburgh, Sara Valentine, Rick Valentine, Carolyn Valentine-Rapp, Ashley Valentine-Derrer and David Valentine. She was also a much loved aunt of seventeen great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins including her special cousin, Sandy Cooper.
Karen retired from Piqua Lumber Company and was a past employee of Forest Products of Piqua. Karen was a caring sister, aunt, cousin and friend who will be greatly missed. She loved animals, especially her cats. Karen was involved in the Chrysalis and Emmaus Communities in Piqua and Sidney.
In following her wishes, Karen's body will be cremated. A memorial service to celebrate Karen's life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Sidney First United Methodist Church Chapel. Karen's family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the hour of service at the church. The family respectfully ask that memorial gifts may be sent to the Chrysalis Community at Greene Street United Methodist Church in Piqua in memory of Karen Ann Valentine.
