Leonard Donald "Deadeye" Thompson

PIQUA - Leonard Donald "Deadeye" Thompson Jr., 62, died at 2:49 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Indianapolis, Ind. on Nov. 30, 1950, to the late Leonard Donald and Rossa B. (Watson) Thompson Sr.
Leonard is survived by seven children, Shawn Moore of Piqua, Lena Street-Hickman of Logan, W.Va., Robert Morton of Troy, Eric Thornhill of Piqua, Derrick Thornhill of Piqua, Latauna Matthews of Piqua, and Dion Williams of Blacksburg, Va.; one brother, Dr. Robert H. Thompson; 16 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Raphael Kent Williams.
Leonard graduated from Park Central High School. He then attended Concord College, Athens, W.Va, for two years. Leonard was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Bluefield, W.Va. He was a semi-truck driver for Dingledine Trucking Company. Leonard also worked with Norfolk and Western Railroad Company.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A Committal Service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, at 2 p.m. Monday.
