PIQUA — Michael K. Stang, 51, of Piqua, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born Dec. 3, 1962, in Miami County to Rita (Simpson) Stang Ash, who survives in Piqua and the late Carl Stang. He married Roberta L. McVety on May 22, 1993 at Good Shepard Presbyterian Church; and she survives.
Other survivors include a son, Carl K. P. Stang of Piqua; a sister, Nicole (Steve) Palsgrove of Piqua; his mother-in-law, Phyllis McVety of Piqua; sister-in-law, Paula (Randy) Wheaton of Piqua; a niece, Blythe Palsgrove; and nephews, Kris Palsgrove and Allan Wheaton.
Mr. Stang was a 1981 graduate of Piqua High School and attended Edison State Community College. He had worked at the Pro Build and Piqua Lumber Companies and currently worked at ConAgra Foods of Troy. He enjoyed photography and as a Pride of Piqua Marching Band parent he was a supporter was active with the Miami County 4-H organization. He and his wife enjoyed Reenacting the Mountain Men era.
A service to honor his life will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger L. Toon officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the
