CHARDON — Neil E. Reeder, 82, of Chardon, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the Geauga Medical Center in Chardon. He was born in Piqua, on Aug. 1, 1931, to Maynard and Beatrice (McQueen) Reeder.
Mr. Reeder was a graduate of Piqua High School in 1949, The Ohio State University and served in the U.S. Army as a Tank Unit Commander in Germany. Mr. Reeder retired as a soil scientist for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in NE Ohio and his consulting company Terra-Tech Enterprises. His published science records are in the Library of Congress.
Survivors include his children, Kathy Ann (Donald) Baird of Chardon, Gayle (Scott) Stewart of Anderson, S.C. and Gary (Donna) Reeder of Guyton, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Carl (Arizona) Reeder and Max (Charlene) Reeder, both of Piqua; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday, March 28, at 2 p.m. in the Fletcher Cemetery, 8245 Casstown-Fletcher Rd., Fletcher. Donations may be made to Neil E.
