ASH FLAT, Ark. — Susan Long, 78, of Ash Flat, Ark., formerly of Piqua, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Eagle Crest Nursing Home in Ash Flat, Ark. She was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Piqua to the late Charles and Grace (Grosvenor) Carr. She married Robert E. Long on Feb. 18, 1956. He preceded her in death Dec. 29, 2009.
Survivors include two children, a daughter, Diana (Rick) Crayne of Ann Arbor, Mich. and a son, Mark Long of Poplar Bluff Ark.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a sister, Janet Landers of Piqua. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Hal Carr and Francis Carr of Piqua, a granddaughter, Kelley Dunlavy and a nephew, Timothy Landers.
Mrs. Long was a graduate of Piqua High School and a member of the Piqua Baptist Church. She retired from the Garfield Shoe Company of Piqua as a sales associate after many years of employment. After retirement, she and Robert retired to Horse Shoe Bend, Ark. living on a lake in their dream home. She enjoyed reading, cooking, crafts and her family.
