Judith A. Wendel

COLDWATER — Judith A. Wendel, 74, of Coldwater and formerly of Fort Recovery, passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 201,

at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. She was born July 19, 1939, in Piqua, to the late Maurice Chrowl and Irene Mikolajewsk.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. "Fritz" Wendel on March 9, 1982. They were married Sept. 1, 1962, in Piqua.

Survivors include three daughters, Susan (Raymond) Nichols of Portland, Ind., Jane Romack of Celina and Julie Terral of Celina; two sons, Michael Wendel of Coldwater and Edward Wendel of Coldwater; 11 grandchildren; in-laws,Nancy Wendel of Fort Recovery, Janice (Leonard) Wendel of Saratoga, Ind., Bernice Wendel of Coldwater, Jim (Veronica) Conlin of Hamilton, and Rosemary Wendel of Fla.

She was preceded in death by in-laws, Cy Wendel, Viet Wendel, Doris Wendel, Kate Wendel, Andy Wendel, Charles Wendel, Vic Muhlenkamp, Agnes Muhlenkamp, and Art Wendel

Mrs. Wendel was a 1957 graduate of Piqua High School, Piqua. She belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Fort Recovery and the American Legion Auxiliary, Coldwater, was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and formerly a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery.

She enjoyed spending time with family, watching the Reds and was an avid Dachshund figurine collector

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery with Fr. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
