PIQUA — Raymon L. Martin Sr., 93, of Piqua, died at 2:35 a.m. Sunday April 13, 2014, at the Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born June 7, 1920 in Piqua to the late William and Nettie May (Jordan) Martin. He married Ona Rosemary "Rosie" Wiltheiss on Dec. 27, 1940; she preceded him in death Nov. 27, 2013.

Survivors include two sons, Terry (Dee) Martin of Sidney and Raymon "Skip" (Marie) Martin Jr. of Covington; 11 grandchildren, Greg (Patty) Neff, Mindy (Jeff) Stewart, Marty (Shari) Neff, Laurie (Sarah) Benendum, Renee (Clark) Combs, Robyn (Tony) Manzo, Christian (Jen) Martin, Marcy (Phil) Thomas, Shani (Travis) Karn, Kelli (Jim) Meckstroth, and Elizabeth (Rob) Jacquemin; 33 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Rae Neff, a grandson, Todd Martin, a brother, Earl Martin, and two sisters, Beulah Shaw and Cleo Lacy.

Mr. Martin retired as the supervisor of the custodial staff of the Upper Valley Joint Vocation School (Upper Valley Career Center). He was a member of the Fletcher United Methodist Church, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 523, and the Warren Masonic Lodge no. 24. Following retirement, he and Rosie wintered in Florida for several years and enjoyed many summers at Poor Farmer's Campground. He was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II.

A service to honor his life will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad, P. O.
