UNION - Thomas L. Berger, 82, of Union, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Englewood Manor in Englewood. Born Jan. 15, 1931, in Piqua, son of the late Clarence and Mary (Mauchamer) Berger. Thomas retired after more than 30 years as a linotype operator and had worked for many printers including the Dayton Daily News and the Piqua Daily Call. He was a Korean War Veteran and was a devoted fan of the Gerner's Softball Team, loved to watch CNN and volunteered to work in the print shop at the Carillon Historical Park in Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Estelle J. (Bushnell) Berger in 2004.
He is survived by his son, Stan (Carol) Berger of Brookville; three grandchildren, Eric Berger, Kyle Berger and Jamie (Brad) Hensley; two great-grandchildren, Alora Berger and Cooper Hensley.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, with the Rev. David Justis officiating. Family will receive friends deom 5-7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home in Lewisburg.
