SPRINGFIELD - Barbara Ann Overcash, 83, of Springfield and formerly of Christiansburg, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Forest Glen, Springfield.
Born on March 13, 1930, in Bradford, Barbara was a daughter of the late Elmer and Susie B. (Warner) Detrick.
She married Harold Overcash on June 26, 1948, and he survives in Springfield. Together they raised three children, Brenda (Mark) Simpson of Springfield, Cynthia (Steve) Adams of Springfield and Dennis (Teresa) Overcash of Broken Arrow, Okla.
She was a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Bettie Sharits of Nashville, Tenn.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a several brothers and sisters.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Troy and was a school cook for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield St., St. Paris with the Rev. Doug Christian of the First Baptist Church, Troy, presiding. Burial will follow in Honeycreek Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Monday, from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
