SIDNEY - Celeste D. Clinton, 92, of Sidney, died Sunday morning Nov. 11, 2012, at the Pavilion Care Center in Sidney. She was born May 17, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Aloys and Irene (Kennedy) Theis. She married Thomas X. Clinton October 7, 1944, in Brooklyn, N.Y., beginning a marriage which would last over 68 years; and he survives.
Other survivors include a daughter Irene (John) Lackner of Bedford, N.H.; two sons, Thomas J. Clinton Esquire of Pittsburgh, Pa., Robert E. (Roberta) Clinton of Huntington, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Alexander Clinton, Christopher Clinton, John T. Lackner, Daniel P. Lackner; two great grandchildren, Claire Celeste Lackner and Ethan Thomas Lackner. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Mrs. Clinton was a 1938 graduate of Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School and attended Mercy Junior College both of Brooklyn, N.Y. She was member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Piqua and active with the 4-H Program as a Leader and assisted Lehman Catholic High School as a substitute school teacher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Thomas L. Bolte as the Celebrant.
Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m.
