Charles L. "Bud" Landenburg

PIQUA — Charles L. "Bud" Landenburg, 90, of Piqua, died at 10:49 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Piqua, to the late Thurman and Martha (Lawson) Landenburg. He married Charlotte Jean Carrol on Dec. 25, 1945, in Piqua; she preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 2001.

Survivors include a son, David (Michelle) Landenburg of Canal Winchester, six grandchildren; and a sister, Frieda Sippel of Vandalia. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanie Lynn Burnside.

Mr. Landenburg attended Piqua schools and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from French Oil Mill Machinery in 1986 after 35 years of service. Bud enjoyed dogs, golfing, watching softball, and was an avid reader.

A funeral service to honor his life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Chalk officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, where full military honors will be conducted by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
