Dale L. Dunevant

JACKSON CENTER — Dale L. Dunevant, 77, of Jackson Center, passed away peacefully on Feb. 26, 2016, at Dorothy Love Retirement Community after a series of strokes. Dale was born on Aug. 20, 1938, in Piqua, Ohio, the son of Harley L. and Bertha F. (Wion) Dunevant. Both parents preceeded him in death.

Dale was married to Norma Dunevant and together they had three children, Kimberly J. Dunevant of Greenville (deceased), Michael (Cathy) Dunevant of Greenville, and Anthony "Tony" (Terry) of Greenville.

Dale was married to Sue Dunevant, who preceded him in death, and together raised James (Lori) Frye of Sidney, and Susan (Jeff) Schaffer of Grove City.

Dale was also survived by great friends Gregg and Joanie Pitts.

Dale was married to Josephine, who preceded him in death.

Dale had a wonderful group of grandchildren, whom he loved very much: Jamie Stevens and Jackie Lawson of Greenville, Ohio; Nicholaus Dunevant, of Kettering, Ohio; Leah Dunevant of Dayton; Justin Dunevant, of Greenville, Ohio, Haleigh Dunevant of Greenville, Ohio; J.R. (Lindsey) Frye of Columbus, Ohio; Jessica (Zachary) Frye of St. Mary's, Ohio; Joseph, Jayel, Jansen Frye of Jackson Center, Ohio; Justin, Ashley, Joshua and Grace of Grove City, Ohio; Hailey and Kyle Wick, Sidney, Ohio.

Dale also had eight great-grandchildren.

Dale is survived by one sister, Caroline (Bud) Lee of Piqua, and two brothers, Doug (Pam) Cassel of Piqua, Ohio, and Jim (Rona) of Brockton, Ala.

Dale was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Holler of Piqua, Ohio, Harley "Buck" Cassel of Piqua, William "Bill" Dunevant of Piqua, Ohio, Ron Cassel of Piqua, Ohio.

Dale retired from Archway; after retirement he loved to travel, was an avid fisherman. He loved spending time with his family, and spending time with his beloved friend, Joy Baker. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Indian Lake, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Adams Funeral Home in Sidney with the Rev. Sam Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery in Gettysburg, Ohio. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
