COVINGTON — Dorothy E. Warner, 94 of Covington, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014, at Koester Pavilion, Troy. Dorothy was born Feb. 15, 1920, in Shelby County to the late Lowell M. and Pearl E. (Feitshans) Rhoades.
She was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1937, retired from Covington Elementary School as the Head Cook, was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Covington, and custodian at St. John Lutheran Church with 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester C. Warner in 1983; and daughter-in-law, Vicki Jo Warner in 2011.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Larry and wife, Sandy Warner of Piqua, Keith Warner of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Joe Bajdo of Dayton; eight grandchildren, David and Gina Warner of Centerville, Michael and Stephanie Warner of Troy, Jean and Brian Heath of Piqua, Douglas L. Warner of Piqua, Cassandra and Brian Schmitmeyer of Dublin, Travis J. Warner of Cincinnati, Jennifer Bajdo of Chicago, Ill., Lisha Bajdo of Kettering; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew, Katherine, Micah, Whitney, John, Angela, Tasha; three great-great-grandchildren, Xylar, Malaki, Kobyn; brother and sister-in-law, George and Louise Rhoades of Versailles; sister, Margaret Morrow of Piqua; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with the Rev. Stephen L. Nierman officiating. Interment Highland Cemetery, Covington. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. Monday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Covington.
