COVINGTON — Dorothy Ray Hollopeter, 79 of Covington, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at the Upper Valley Medical Center. Dorothy was born in Slocum, Ala., on Dec. 23, 1933, to the (late) Grady and Gladys (Windham) Shields. She was a past employee at Covington Elementary School Cafeteria and also Uhlman's in Piqua.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jackie Eugene Hollopeter, in 1974; great-granddaughter, Harper Ray Weaver; two brothers, M.J. Shield and J.C. Shield; and two sisters, Louise Shield and Linda Shields.

Dorothy is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Rick Hollopeter of Bradford, Glen and Kay Hollopeter of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Larry Rosengarten of Covington; nine grandchildren, Mike and Angie Rosengarten, Casey and Deirdre Rosengarten, Julie and Brad Weaver, Anissa Hollopeter, Jack Luke Hollopeter, Aaron Hollopeter, Rebekah and Dan Shafer, Jenny Martin, and Anna Snyder; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Gene Shields of Bonifay, Fla.; sister, Margaret Fulford of Hartford, Ala.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be noon Saturday at the Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington. Interment Greenville Creek Cemetery, Bradford. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
