COVINGTON - Elaine Larena (Guillozet) Christian, 69, of Covington, lost her battle with cancer at home surrounded by her loving family on April 12, 2014. She was born in Piqua to Leonard and Larena Guillozet on June 14, 1944. Elaine was the youngest girl of eleven brothers and sisters - Dorothy (Sr. Mary LaSalette), Kathryn (Paul) Raterman, Rosemary (Sr. Mary Hortense), Ruth, Joan (James) Sherman of Piqua, John (Maxine) Guillozet of Piqua, Jeanette Higgins, Donald (Roma) Guillozet of Piqua, Lucille (Robert) Preston of Lockington, and James (Mary) Guillozet of The Villages, Fla.

Elaine was a graduate of Piqua Catholic High School and received her teaching certificate from the University of Dayton. Elaine married Jan Christian, the love of her life, on October 3, 1964. They enjoyed 49 years of marriage together. They had four children Kelly of Cincinnati, Joe (Sandy) of Covington, Kathy (Rich) Collins of Ravenna, and Jenny of Covington. Her pride and joy were her eight grandchildren: Nick Christian of Fairborn, Alex Christian of Columbus, Erin Christian of Athens, Ben Christian of Covington, Sam Christian of Covington, Mike Collins of Kent, Josh Collins of Ravenna, and Lauren Hebert of Covington.

Elaine was always willing to volunteer for committees and organizations. She served as the Treasurer for the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, Treasurer for the multiple Covington School Levies and the new school levy. She dedicated 45 years to the St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus CCD program serving initially as a teacher and later as the Superintendent of the program. She also served on the committee for the community's Vacation Bible School. Elaine worked as treasurer for Automotive Armature Works in Piqua, Clerk for the J.R. Clarke Public Library and Tax Administrator for the Village of Covington. She is preceded in death by her parents; and five sisters, Dorothy (Sr. Mary LaSalette), Kathryn Ratterman, Ruth Guillozet, Rosemary (Sr. Mary Hortense), Jeanette Higgins.

Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Covington, with Father Ron Haft celebrant. Donations may be made to the J.R. Clarke Public Library or the St. Teresa's Ladies Auxiliary. Condolences may be left for the family at
