PIQUA - Georgie A. Cyphers, 83, of Piqua, died at 9:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at the Piqua Manor Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 7, 1929, in Troy to the late Edward and Georgie (Campbell) Starry. She married Edgar E. "Jack" Cyphers on Nov. 14, 1958, in Piqua; he preceded her in death March 28, 1995.
Survivors include a son, Jeff (Dawn) Cyphers of Piqua; a daughter, Juanita (Steven) Supinger of Piqua; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel (Hank) Furlong of Tipp City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Starr and Jim Starry; a sister, Gertie Sotzing; two grandsons, Jeffrey and James; and a great- granddaughter, Makinzie.
Mrs. Cyphers worked at the former Concord School and was a wonderful homemaker all of her life. She was a member of the Piqua Salvation Army Citadel.
A service to honor her life will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Captain Douglas Dolder officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Piqua Salvation Army, 129 S. Wayne St., Piqua, OH 45356.
