PIQUA - Herbert S. Hill, 74, formerly of Piqua, more recently of Huber Heights, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. He was born Feb. 26, 1939, in Piqua to the late Scott T. Hill and Florence (Rittenhouse) Hill Kemp. He married Betty M. Walker on Nov. 29, 1959, in Piqua; and she survives.
Other survivors include a son, Scott T. (Michelle) Hill of Haysville, Kan.; a granddaughter, Courtney Hill; a brother, Mike (Marilyn) Kemp of Piqua; a sister, Melody Irvin of Huber Heights; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Bill Kemp
Mr. Hill was a 1957 graduate of Piqua Central High School and was a machinist for many years having retired from Mid West Tool of Dayton. He attended Sulfur Grove United Methodist Church and enjoyed woodcrafting, woodcarving, fishing and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
A service to honor his life will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Hanover officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
