BRADFORD — Janet "Jan" Sue Riffle, 73, of Bradford, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at the Upper Valley Medical Center. Jan was born in Dayton on Aug. 14, 1941, to the late Kenneth Eugene Fourman and Viola Marie (Dillard) Fourman Fitzpatrick.
She was a graduate of Jefferson Twp. High School, Class of 1959. She repaired and sold dolls, was a very active member of the Bradford Church of the Nazarene where through the years she has sang, led the choir, taught Sunday School, served as member of the Mission Board, led VBS, and was church secretary.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, James Fitzpatrick; and infant brother, Donald Lee Fourman. Jan is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ronald V. Riffle; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan D. and Jeannie Riffle of Pleasant Hill, Christopher K. and Gretchen L. Riffle of Celina; two daughters, Susan Ross of Bradford and Bonnie Riffle of Bradford; seven grandchildren, Tony Ross, Lindsay Ross, Christian Ross, David and wife, Emily Goen, Jackson Riffle, Matt and wife, Liz Fitzwater, Denise and husband, Aaron Cordonnier; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Elijah, and Hailey; and sister-in-law, Janice Parks of Centerville; and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Bradford Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Louis Reindel and Pastor Chris Riffle officiating. Interment Ansonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends for 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford and again from 9 a.m. Friday until time of service at the church.
