Janice Ross (1937 - 2018)

PIQUA — Janice I. Ross, 81, of Piqua, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018, in the comfort of her residence. She was born Feb. 27, 1937, in Dayton to the late Arthur E. and Eleanor I. (Hamsher) Zolman. She married Carl W. Ross in Piqua, and he survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Jeff (Lily) Rhynard of Huber Heights, Joe Rhynard of Piqua; two daughters, Jana Ravenscroft, Jodi Rhynard both of Piqua; six grandchildren, Joshua, Jeanna, Jeremy, Jimmy, Jamie, Nissia; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bobbi (Jim) Davis of Kissimmee, Florida, Donna (Tom) Tessier of Atlanta, Georgia; a sister and brother in law, Deb and Randy Puckett of Piqua and a brother in law, Frank Frisch.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Frisch; a son, Jim Rhynard; two nephews, Donny Frisch, Lee Frisch; and a niece, Lisa Tessier.

Mrs. Ross was a 1955 graduate of Piqua Central High School. She worked as a line inspector and union representative for the Copeland Corporation, from which she retired after 30 years of dedication. She was a past member of Greene Street United Methodist Church and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed spending time attending auctions, purchasing various items which she would then sell on eBay. She loved her family deeply and will be missed by many.

A service to honor her life will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Keith Gebhart officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
