PIQUA — Larry L. Bowman, 75, of Piqua, died at 11:11 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton. He was born March 31, 1939, in Miami County to the late Harold and Marjorie (Penny) Bowman. He married Karen L. Howell on June 10, 1961, in Piqua; and she survives.

Other survivors include his step-mother, Agnes Bowman of Troy; three sons, David (Tricia) Bowman, Thomas (Gale) Bowman and Steven (Stephanie) Bowman, all of Piqua; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Matt) Morgan, Brandilyn Bowman, Justin Bowman, Joshua Bowman; a great-grandson, Easton Bowman; two step-brothers, Donald (Pat) Felver of Georgia and Alfred (Juanita) Felver of Piqua; two half-brothers, Robert (Barbara) Bowman of Casstown and Ted (Robin) Bowman of Troy; and a half-sister, Rose (Bob) Anderson of Georgia. He was preceded in death by a sister, Edythe Martin.

Mr. Bowman was a graduate of Miami Central High School (Miami East), worked for more than 35 years for Hobart Corp. of Troy and then continued working for the Evenflo Corp. of Piqua until his retirement. He was a member of the Piqua Church of the Nazarene and served in the United States Army. He enjoyed working outdoors, running and sports. His family was always very important to him and he cherished all of them. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.

A service to honor his life will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Piqua Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Steven Spoon officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Piqua Church of the Nazarene, 400 S.
