CELINA — Linda L. Sullenberger, 70, formerly of Piqua, more recently of Celina, passed away at 9:03 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at her residence. She was born Nov. 4, 1947, in Piqua, to the late Ralph R. and Jane E. (Smith) Steiner. She married the love of her life, Stephen L. Sullenberger, April 4, 1970, at St. Boniface Catholic Church; he preceded her in death May 20, 2011.

Survivors include a son, Rob (Renee) Sullenberger of Powell; a daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Clark of Piqua; and five grandchildren, Kate, Jack and Megan Sullenberger, Gracie and Evan Clark.

Mrs. Sullenberger was a 1965 gradate of Piqua Central High School and a 1969 graduate of the Ohio State University, earning her degree in Occupational Therapy and later furthered her education at Wright State University, earning her Master's. She was a pioneer in the development of school based occupational therapy programming and sensory integration, building programs at Dettmer Hospital, Riverside and Miami County Educational Service Center.

Linda was viewed by her colleagues as someone who was a teacher, mentor, leader and friend. She worked for nearly 50 years, impacting the lives of countless students and their families. She was an independent woman who had the strongest of work ethics and put so much care into every aspect of her work.

Linda and Steve had a relationship like no other with a love and connection that few achieve and many want to experience. They enjoyed spending time relaxing and having fun with their children and grandchildren at their home on the lake. She made sure to take the time to attend any function for her grandchildren; be it sports, music or academia. She enjoyed traveling and taking vacations with her family.

She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends who share in her excitement to rejoin the love of her life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, at St. Boniface Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Daniel P. Hunt as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
