SIDNEY – Margaret Ann Glenn, 73, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, July 1, 2018. She was born June 2, 1945, in Belington, West Virginia, to the late Roy and Noble (Gunnoe) Glenn.

Locally, she is survived by her aunt and uncle, Pat and Tom Pierce of Sidney.

Margaret graduated from Glenville State College in West Virginia and Wright State University in Ohio.

Margaret's joy in life was teaching. In 42 years of teaching, she touched the lives of hundreds of students. Her career began at Houston High School, where she created its first track and field event for girls. In recent years, she was honored by some of those athletes.

She then took a position teaching business at Upper Valley CC/JVS. In addition, her career included teaching at the college level for Edison State Community College, Wright State University and supervising student teachers. Margaret also served on various educational committees and held offices at the state level.

Until health issues intervened, Margaret loved to dance, and ballroom dancing was her favorite. Margaret often mentioned the kindness of people she came in contact with wherever she went.

A Gathering of Remembrance will be held Monday, July 16, in the Helen Louis Room in the Piqua Public Library, 116 High St., from 3:30-6 p.m.

As per Margaret's wishes, interment will be in West Virginia.
