Shirley A. Kiefer (1936 - 2018)

PIQUA — Shirley A. Kiefer, 82, of Piqua, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:40 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit of Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born March 4, 1936, in Piqua, to the late Robert L. and Hazel L. (Starr) Konz. She married Thomas S. Kiefer June 2, 1956, in St. Mary Catholic Church, and he survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Tom (Bonnie) Kiefer, Ted (Jaimie) Kiefer, both of Piqua; two daughters, Tonia (Steve) Woehrmyer of Minster, Sheree (Dwight) Hubbard of Piqua; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald (Beverly) Konz of Piqua.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Konz; and one grandson, Kyle Hubbard.

Mrs. Kiefer was a 1954 graduate of Piqua Central High School, where she served as the librarian during her junior and senior years. She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed her membership at the Piqua Fish & Game and the Knights of Columbus for many years.

She was a wonderful dancer, homemaker, mother, and grandmother, and loved to be involved in the activities of her children as she served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scout Pack and a Girl Scout Leader.

She was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds. She was an avid bowler, card player, especially Euchre in her monthly card club, and enjoyed camping and fishing with her children and grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Daniel Hunt as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
