Theodore J. Gariety

PORTLAND, Ore. — Theodore J. Gariety, 68, passed away Nov. 1, 2018, in Portland, Oregon.

Ted was born Sept. 10, 1950, to James and Frances (Francis) Gariety.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Gariety.

He is survived by his mother Frances (Francis) Gariety, of Piqua; son, Andrew (Amber), of Portland, Oregon; daughter, Tina Wilcoxson (John), of Lake Placid, Florida; brothers, Tom (Christy), of Centerville, Terry (Diane), of Portland, Oregon, Tim, of Houston; sisters, Teresa (Andy) Klepp, of Asheville, North Carolina; Toni Ann (Jim) Daniel, of Piqua, and Tammy (Dave) Christian, of Troy; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ted graduated from Ft. Loramie High School, class of 1969. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1971-1973. He later graduated from Bell and Howell Technical School in Columbus with a degree in electronic design engineering.

Ted moved to Washington State in the mid 1990s to work at ControlTek as a Senior Engineer. He studied computer Science at Washington State University.

Ted enjoyed ballroom dancing, the Indianapolis 500, bowling, golf and fishing. Ted was a certified pilot and took great pleasure in flying small aircraft.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. at Vancouver Funeral Chapel, Vancouver, Washington. Internment is at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland Oregon.
