PIQUA — Isaac B. Gilmore, 88, of Piqua, died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Heartland of Piqua Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Lexington, Ky., to the late Robert and Margaret (Beatty) Gilmore Sr.. He married Helen D. Russell June 6, 1953 in Xenia; she preceded him in death Nov. 13, 2010.
Survivors include a son, Robert B. Gilmore of Piqua; a brother, Robert Gilmore Jr. of Kentucky; a sister, Hattie B. Maupins of Dayton and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Mr. Gilmore was a high school graduate and retired from factory work. He, along with his wife, owned Rossville Museum and served as its Curators. He was very active with the Jehovah's Witnesses and enjoyed fishing.
A service to honor his life will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Elder Allen Preuss presiding. Private burial will take place at the Rossville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
